Here it is Hale’s Story, excerpted from The Sedona Method: Your key to lasting happiness, success, peace, and emotional well-being-being, Sedona Press September 2003.
1976 was the year I met Lester Levenson. He is the man who instigated the creation and evolution of the Sedona Method I would become my mentor. I was a confused and ardent seeker back then. I had attended many seminars by teachers from the East as well as the West. I had studied various body-Yoga, Tai Chi, and Shiatsu are all centered disciplines. Participation in many personal growth courses including EST, Actualism and Theta Seminars was a regular part of my life. At these seminars, I had many nice experiences and heard and understood—at least intellectually—many useful concepts. Still, I felt incomplete. I wanted a simple, powerful solution to some of my most pressing questions such as: “What is my life’s purpose?” “What is truth?” “Who am I?” “How can I feel at home and at peace with my life?”Get your instant download Hale Dwoskin – Sedona Method – Healing Conflict
A lot of what I heard, saw and experienced only increased my questions. None of us seemed to be able to find the answers we were looking for or to know our true nature. A strong belief was held by almost everyone that growing was hard work. It required shedding your soul and experiencing painful, unresolved problems. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to meet this extraordinary man. Lester met me at a seminar that was led by a very well-known speaker.-known speaker that Lester was attending as the leader’s guest. We all went to lunch that day. Lester’s presence immediately struck me as unique. He was in complete peace and equal-Mindfulness, comfortable with him. He was unassuming and easy to talk to and treated everyone as his friend—even me, a complete stranger. It was obvious that he’d ended his search by discovering the answers I’d been seeking. I knew I needed to learn more.
When I asked Lester his profession, he told me that he was a teacher and invited me to attend a seminar the next weekend. I was all he could tell me. “a group of people is going to sit around a table and release.” I wasn’t sure what releasing meant, but I knew if it could even point me in the direction of the qualities of which Lester was the living embodiment, I definitely wanted it. I took a leap and signed up right away.
That weekend I was in essentially the same position you’re in right now. I was about embarking on a journey, which caused me a little bit more anxiety. I wasn’t sure exactly with what I was getting involved, and, since I had done so many seminars, I also had a healthy degree of skepticism. I began to wonder. “Oh my God, is this going to be another one of those disappointments along the way?” However, as the course progressed, I saw myself and others in the class shed longing.-They were able to hold beliefs and limits with remarkable ease and speed without needing to relive their lives or explain them.
Almost overnight, I knew that I’d found what I was looking for. In fact, deep inside, I knew that this process of releasing was what I had been born to do and share with the world—and to this day I have never wavered. In the past 26 years, I’ve watched thousands of other people change their lives, radically yet gently, for the better just by learning one elegantly simple, yet powerful technique.
How Releasing has influenced my life
My relationship with Lester was like a friendship from the start. I felt immediately attracted to his teachings and took all three courses: the Basic Course in November and January and the Instructors Training February. I was determined to learn everything. I started to work with Lester in order to spread his teachings around the world.
Working with Lester afforded me the opportunity to spend more time with him, observe him in action, and see how he dealt with life’s inevitable challenges. I was extremely impressed. We connected in many ways, including sitting down at coffee shops and talking for hours. Up until his passing, he enjoyed talking over a cup coffee and sitting down to chat. He stated often, “My office is my brief case, and the nearest place to get a good cup of coffee.”
Meetings were often funny and frustrating for me. Lester was more interested in keeping the conversation as simple as possible. Nonetheless, every time we were together, my understanding and direct experience of truth would deepen—even if we never spoke about it. He was a living example, not a pontificator. I learned to let go and enjoy greater freedom every day from this man. It was a practice that has stayed with my to this day.
I was so invested that I began to organize support groups for people with the disorder. Sedona Method My Upper West Side apartment living room. But it wasn’t long before I realized that I needed to mature and grow personally before I could be of much use to Lester and his budding organization. I chose to be a volunteer and an active participant in his work instead of being an employee, while still exploring how the release would impact my daily life.
Soon after, I launched my own business selling jewelry. Part-time work was possible due to the success of this venture.-Time while I explore life and release full-time. I continued with Lester’s venture until 1981. As I worked with the Method in my business and personal life, I became ever more convinced that I’d found a technique that could help anyone. In the late ‘70s Lester moved out to Arizona. Although my contact with Lester was limited to his teachings, it continued to be a profound influence on me.
In 1981, I was invited by Phoenix to attend an Instructors Training. It was the beginning of a new phase in our relationship. It also renewed my desire to work closely alongside Lester on sharing the experience. Method With the rest of the world.
I began leading workshops. Sedona Method New York City graduates were often seen in New York City. They flew to Arizona several time a year for additional training or to take part in longer retreats. Participating in the Trainings and Intensives and leading workshops greatly accelerated me personal use of the Intensives and Trainings. Method. Participation brought me great results, as well as my friends.
I made the decision to become more involved in this period.-Time is a valuable resource in the business world. I briefly worked for my father selling industrial real estate in and around New York City, but I didn’t feel the job suited me. I then joined a Manhattan co-selling firm.-Condominiums and ops.
I was able to quickly use the Method I was able to help them with their sales skills and became one of their top selling salespeople. For a while I enjoyed doing this, but then an opportunity presented itself to join my brother in establishing an investment division back in my father’s real estate firm. I was happy to sell office buildings, shopping malls, and other real property investments.
My brother and I became best friends for the first time in our adult lives. I was able release all the baggage from our past relationship and we became a fantastic business team. There was a recurring issue with us that we started more deals than were closing. Lester called me to ask how I was doing. I explained the situation.
He spoke one sentence that completely transformed our closing ratio, and the rest my business career. He said simply, “Bank in the bank, not in your head.” He noticed something that I and many others in the sales profession had, and without me saying anything, it was “head banking.” I was so consumed with fantasizing about how wonderful it would be when each deal was closed that I forgot to actually close them. We started to close more deals when I stopped fantasizing and started releasing.
Another lesson in letting go was when I received a listing of nine shopping centers from a person who was then known as a Xerox brokerage. A Xerox broker can be someone who receives written listings of properties from other brokers. They then copy the listings and send them to other brokers or principals.Download it immediately Hale Dwoskin – Sedona Method – Healing Conflict
I sent a copy to one of my top customers. He immediately emailed me back with an almost complete listing.-Pricing offer. It was obvious that I was excited so I called the principal to confirm my suspicions. I later discovered that the listing had been sent by a Xerox broker without any way to reach the owner.
I was disillusioned and realized there was nothing I could do except to let go. I let go. I cleared my head and let go of all my emotions about the situation. I came to the conclusion that it was OK whether I made the deal. Our office received the next call from the principal of the shopping malls. He was responding to an advertisement looking for properties we had just published in the Wall Street Journal. I almost fell to the ground when he offered me the listing for the exact same property.
This is only one of many events that have led me to understand that a statement I’d heard repeatedly from Lester is absolutely true: “Even the impossible becomes completely possible when you are fully released on it.”
I was also able to use the tool. Method right while closing deals, sometimes when people were renegotiating multimillion dollar contracts and trying to cheat me or each other by making up a whole new story of what we’d agreed on, instead of simply signing the papers and exchanging checks. These were very stressful situations, because there was a lot at stake. Nonetheless, because I was releasing, I knew when to be quiet—which is very difficult for a broker. I was also able to recognize when it was time to defend the right. I was rewarded beyond my wildest dreams with the financial rewards.
By early 1987, I’d saved enough money to move to Arizona to rejoin Lester and support him in sharing his wonderful technique with the world. My father and brother were shocked when I decided to move to Phoenix.-Time volunteer for his non-The profit organization Sedona Institute, doing all that was necessary to spread the word. I spent most of the remaining years of Lester’s life working closely with him on his mission, almost entirely without monetary compensation. The reason I didn’t mind working for free was that I could see how much good I was doing, and how much I was personally changing for the better.
Lester asked that I move to 1989. Sedona to help him sell some of the organization’s real estate holdings to graduates in order to raise money. Amy was there when I met Amy. I met her at a karate lesson and instantly recognized her as my wife. I then asked her out the next day. She was still dating another man at that time and asked me for my number in case things changed. I received a call from her a few months later and we went on a date. It was Wednesday. That Saturday, she was taking the Sedona Method Course.
Today, Amy and I have a beautiful, loving relationship, but it wasn’t always that way. It was hard at first. Amy was really interested in other men at the moment we met. It took me a lot of releasing to get her to choose me. Once we married, we still had our disagreements—which of course still happens, that’s only natural. We both use the internet. Sedona MethodWe let go of any upsets caused by an event. My perspective is that our relationship is unusual in the way it continues to get better and more loving.
Early morning ‘90s, my relationship with Lester had grown to a place of such mutual trust and respect that he decided to turn over the copyrights of his teachings to me and asked me to continue his work. I maintained the organization that he’He died two years later. In 1996, Amy and I decided that it would be more efficient for us to start a new business. Sedona Training Associates to transmit the Method To the world in a bigger way
One of the things that impresses me most about the process of releasing is that it has resulted in a sense of unshakable peace, happiness, joy, and calmness that is always with me, no matter what’s going on around me. Not that there still aren’t ups and downs, but, as Lester used to say, this is really the “bottoms-up method.” My own experience has shown me that what I thought was a peak experience or something truly extraordinary is now normal. And my peaks keep getting higher. I don’t know how far it will go. “up” is, and I’m looking forward to finding out.Archive: https://archive.fo/V4lNY
