Dr. Peterson According to him, personalities are evolved solutions for complex problems. Our personalities are the filters that filter our perceptions, cognitions, and motivations which influence our actions in the real world.
LECTURE 2
This lecture introduces five-Factor model will be the foundation of the course.
“The concept of grit, for example, is essentially the same as conscientiousness, meaning it doesn’t measure anything you can’t get from conscientiousness. The concept of self-esteem is positive emotion (extraversion) minus negative emotion (neuroticism).”
LECTURE 3
Find out about Extraversion, the first of the Big Five personality characteristics. Our positive emotions are attributed to Extraversion.
The positive and the negative aspects of our emotional systems determine how happy we should feel when things are going well, and how upset we should get when things turn sour.

This lecture introduces the personality dimension of neuroticism, which describes a person’s tendency to experience negative emotion.

This lecture is about personality trait agreeableness. Low agreeableness can be linked to competitive behavior. High agreeability is associated with maternal care. Which is better?
